To qualify for a Washington Real Estate Broker License, you must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), and pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
The Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) requires candidates to complete two mandatory courses prior to taking the state exam:
At Gateway School of Real Estate, our live-online evening program covers both requirements over a 10-week schedule, with full video recordings provided so you never fall behind.

The exam is administered by PSI Services and includes 100 national questions and 30 Washington-specific questions. You must score at least 70% on each section.
Passing your exam on the first attempt comes down to mastering state agency law and understanding practical transaction math.
Complete electronic fingerprinting through IdentoGO and submit your formal broker license application online through the Department of Licensing SecureAccess Washington (SAW) portal.
